FOOTBALL COMPETITION AT ZAKHO

On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, the SABIS Student Life Organization^® (SLO^®) Sports and Health Department at Zakho International School, a SABIS^® PPP school in Kurdistan, organized a football competition for students in grades 5-8.

Seven teams competed in the competition, which was held in the school stadium during lunch time. Winning teams were able to move on to a second round and third round until the last game. The final game was played between grades 7 and 8, with grade 8 winning the competition. At the end, both teams were presented with a trophy and medals by the teachers who were present at the game.

The purpose of the event was to create enthusiasm for sports at the school, and more importantly teach students the value of teamwork and friendly competition. “We had a lot of fun and we hope for this competition to take place every year,” said a student.
