Grade 5 Participates in Environmentally Friendly Event

Students in Grade 5 at Zakho International School, a SABIS^® PPP school, took part in an environmentally friendly event called Keep the School Green and Clean on October 24, 2015.        

The students were first split off into two groups. As group one painted tires, group two cleaned up the garden. Flowers were planted in the tires that were arranged in the shape of a fountain. At the end, the students cleaned up the entrance of the school.

This activity helped the students realize the power of team work. They also learned how important it is to improve the school’s environment and reuse old items. “The activity was wonderful and successful as the students learned how to garden and plant,” a teacher said.
