Grades 1 to 6 at Zakho Compete for Cleanest Class Cup

Grades 1 to 6 at Zakho Compete for Cleanest Class Cup

On September 9, 2016, students in grades 1 to 6 in Zakho International School, a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan, awarded the first Cleanest Class Cup to the tidiest and best kept classrooms in those levels.

At the beginning of the school year, the SABIS Student Life Organization®’s Social Responsibility Department introduced students to a friendly competition between classes based on class cleanliness. At the end of each week the School Director and Social Responsibility prefects would take a tour of the classrooms to pick the winners, who are announced during lunch break for everyone to applaud. Winners enjoy the opportunity to showcase the cup in their class room for a whole week, until new winners are selected.

This activity was designed to motivate students to keep their classrooms clean, and to encourage good personal hygiene. Students are very excited about winning the cup and enjoy competing as a class, which helps promote their team spirit. “We are so happy our school has the Cleanest Class Cup and we want to get it next week!” said a student.
