TRADITION EXHIBITION

In order to teach students about Kurdish folklore, culture and daily life before the contemporary period, the Zakho International School held an exhibition of Kurdish culture and traditions for Grades 3 and 4.

Students brought in family heirlooms to put on display for their fellow students and brought in heaping piles of traditional Kurdish food. After the Director cut the ribbon signifying the start fof the exhibition, the students were led in groups around displays of traditional tools and crafts used by Kurds in their daily lives. The students listened spellbound as Kurdish teachers explained the use of each tool and heirloom. Singing Kurdish folk songs the students enjoyed the food and they enjoyed each other's company.
