Zakho Students Participate in Planting Activity
Grade 6 students in Zakho International School, a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan, participated in a planting activity at school on April 6, 2017.
Students were asked to bring plants from home to school to be planted around the school. Students came to school with a variety of different plants in pots and during their SLO® periods they went around the school to choose the best places to plant them. Students dug up the soil with the supervision of the Activities Coordinator and then planted all their plants. Everyone helped including the school administration, office manager, AQC, Director, etc. It was a wonderful time spent and the students really enjoyed the activity.
The purpose of this activity was to teach students the correct way to plant different flowers and plants, as well as teach them the right care their plants need. “This was a great opportunity for the kids to learn about the importance and beauty of plants and flowers. The school looks very neat and everyone enjoys looking at them,” said a teacher.
