ZAKHO STUDENTS VISIT ANESHKI CAVE

ZAKHO STUDENTS VISIT ANESHKI CAVE

On February 8, 2019, grades 5 and 6 students in Zakho International School, a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan, took a trip to Aneshki Cave.

The students and teachers met early at school and took the bus to Aneshki Cave together. On the trip, the teachers and students discussed the history of the place and how it is an important part of the local landscape. The students were amazed by the cave and once inside asked many questions.

Afterwards, they passed by Duhok Zawa Mountain, despite the snow and rain they still managed to enjoy the sights of Duhok from the top of the mountain. After a very enjoyable trip the students had lunch together in a nearby restaurant.

The purpose of this activity was to show students an important piece of their landscape and nature and teach them more about the history of the land. “It was amazing, I liked it so much,” said a student.
